Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Lead Media AS, a Norwegian company ("we", "us", "our"), operating the ReferralPages platform at referralpages.app.

By accessing or using ReferralPages you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the platform.

2. Description of Service

ReferralPages is a software-as-a-service platform that lets businesses create branded referral pages, collect referral submissions, and manage referral programs. The platform automatically builds referral pages from a business's website, handles form submissions, and delivers notifications to the business owner.

We offer a Free tier and a paid Pro tier. Features, limits, and pricing may change over time as described in Section 16.

3. Account Registration & Security

To use ReferralPages as a business owner ("tenant"), you authenticate via a magic link sent to your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the email account used for authentication. Each business should maintain one account.

You agree to provide accurate, current information when setting up your referral page. You must promptly notify us at support@referralpages.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Free and Pro Plans

ReferralPages currently offers two tiers:

• Free — Subdomain-hosted referral page, email notifications for new referrals, basic referral tracking and CSV export.
• Pro ($49/month) — Everything in Free, plus: custom domain support, SMS notifications (via Twilio) in addition to email, priority support, and access to advanced features as they are released.

We reserve the right to change tier features and pricing. See Section 5 for billing terms and Section 16 for how we communicate changes.

5. Billing & Payment

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly at $49 USD via Stripe. By subscribing you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.

• No refunds. All charges are final and non-refundable.
• Cancel anytime. You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your tenant dashboard or by emailing support@referralpages.app. After cancellation, you retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free tier.
• Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' written notice before changing subscription pricing. Continued use after the new price takes effect constitutes acceptance.
• Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or suspend Pro features until the balance is resolved.

6. Referral Program Terms

Some tenants use ReferralPages to operate referral programs that offer rewards or benefits to referrers and/or referred parties. The following terms apply to all referral programs operated through the platform:

• Program changes. Tenants may modify, suspend, or discontinue their referral program at any time. We may also modify or discontinue platform-level referral program features at our discretion.
• Snapshot at submission. When a referral is submitted, the program terms in effect at that moment are captured and associated with that referral. If the program changes afterward, referrals already submitted retain the terms that were captured at the time of submission.
• Reward honor period. Earned rewards (those that have reached a "pending" or qualifying status) remain honor-eligible for 12 months from the date they become earned. After 12 months, unclaimed or unfulfilled rewards may expire at the tenant's discretion.
• No cash value. Referral rewards have no cash value and are non-transferable unless explicitly stated otherwise by the tenant operating the program.
• Fraud and abuse. We and/or the tenant may suspend, deny, or revoke rewards in cases of fraud, abuse, policy violation, duplicate or self-referrals, or obvious clerical error.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to promote illegal activity.
• Submit fake, fraudulent, or spam referrals.
• Impersonate another person or business.
• Upload content that infringes a third party's intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the platform's infrastructure.
• Use automated tools to interact with the service in ways that degrade performance for other users.

You must own or have the legal right to use all business information, logos, images, and branding you provide to the platform. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

8. Intellectual Property

Our platform. ReferralPages, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is owned by Lead Media AS and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of the platform itself.

Your content. You retain ownership of the business data, logos, images, and other content you provide. By uploading content to ReferralPages, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating your referral page and delivering the service.

9. Data Ownership & Portability

You own your referral data — the referral submissions, referrer information, and related records generated through your referral page. You may export your data as CSV at any time from your tenant dashboard.

Upon account termination, you may request a data export. We will retain your data for up to 90 days after termination to allow for export requests, after which it will be permanently deleted. You may also request immediate deletion at any time by emailing privacy@referralpages.app.

10. Website Scraping Consent

When you submit a website URL to ReferralPages, you authorize us to access and scrape publicly available information from that website — including business name, phone number, address, colors, images, and social media links — to automatically build your referral page.

You represent that you have the right to use the website content you direct us to scrape. We store scraped data as part of your tenant configuration and use it only to render and operate your referral page.

11. Third-Party Services

ReferralPages relies on the following third-party services to deliver the platform:

• Cloudflare — Hosting, CDN, database (D1), object storage (R2), bot protection (Turnstile), and web analytics.
• Stripe — Payment processing for Pro subscriptions.
• Twilio — SMS notification delivery for Pro tenants.
• Resend — Email delivery for referral notifications and magic-link authentication.

Your use of ReferralPages is also subject to these providers' terms and policies. We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by third-party services.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times. We do not warrant that referral pages will generate any particular business results.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lead Media AS's total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

In no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or loss of goodwill, regardless of the theory of liability.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lead Media AS, its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service or violation of these Terms.
• Content you submit or make available through the platform.
• Your infringement of any third party's intellectual property or other rights.
• Any illegal or unauthorized activity conducted through your account.

15. Termination

By you. You may stop using the service and close your account at any time by emailing support@referralpages.app. If you have a Pro subscription, cancellation terms in Section 5 apply.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We may also discontinue the service entirely with 30 days' notice.

Effect of termination. Upon termination, your referral page will be taken offline. Your data will be retained for up to 90 days to allow export, then permanently deleted. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 17) will survive termination.

16. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Non-material changes (such as formatting or clarifications) take effect when posted.

Your continued use of the service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with changes, you should stop using the service before they take effect.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Norway.
